About Us
How we got here.
I first met my husband in March of 2010 (he says September ‘09, but I don’t remember that). We talked for a long time. We hung out pretty much everyday after that. He had a girlfriend. Then he didn’t.
He flew out to meet my family in June of 2010. They loved him. I stayed in WA for that terrible, horrible, looong summer. I moved back to Ontario in August.
We talked about getting married and he fake proposed a few times (SO annoying). In fact, I was so used to him fake proposing that when he actually did in October ‘10, my response was “Are you serious?!?”. He was.
We got married in June 2011, exactly one month after we graduated from university together. We moved to WA in August 2011 and I started teaching the next week.
Because he is Canadian, it took a LONG time for him to be legal to work and live in the states. He finally got all of that done in April and he is currently looking for work.
On his 22nd birthday in February, I took a pregnancy test in the library bathroom on my lunch break. Two pink lines showed up almost immediately. I began teaching Grade 6 full time that same day.
After living with my parents (in a mother-in-law suite) since August, we just moved to our own (rented) adorable little 100 year old house. We love it.
I just finished teaching and now we are very, very excitedly awaiting the arrival of our daughter in October.
